This summer marks 30 years of Moonlight Cinema – three decades of magical movie nights under the stars, picnic rugs on the grass, and unforgettable memories with friends, family, and film lovers nationwide. 

And to celebrate this milestone season, we’re handing the program over to you. 

We are excited to introduce The People’s Program – where you get to decide what’s showing on the big screen! 

 

What Is The People’s Program? 

In Celebration of our 30th Season, Moonlight Cinema is letting the audience take charge of the line-up. The People’s Program is your chance to vote for your favourite films from the past three decades – the classics, the family favourites, and the crowd-pleasers that define what movie magic under the stars is all about. 

The top-voted films will be screened from late January to end of season, bringing fan favourites back to the big screen in cities around Australia. 

So, whether you’re a die-hard Shrek fan, a Dirty Dancing devotee, or can’t resist Grease for the hundredth time – your vote can make it happen. 

 

Where to Experience It 

Once we’ve got all of the votes in, The People’s Program will light up Moonlight Cinema screens with select screenings of the top voted films from January until the end of season in: 

• Sydney – Centennial Parklands 

• Melbourne – Royal Botanic Gardens 

• Brisbane – Roma Street Parkland 

• Perth – Kings Park and Botanic Garden 

• Adelaide – Botanic Park 

  

How to Get Involved 

1. Vote for your favourite film
   Click HERE to cast your vote for the movies you’d love to see return to the big screen. 

1. Secure your discount
   Once you’ve completed the survey, you will receive an exclusive discount that can be utilised on The People’s Program screenings. Once the winning films are announced in January, spots will fill fast – remember to keep an eye out for the program release.  Please note, the discount code will only work on these sessions.  

1. Bring your picnic crew
   Pack your picnic blanket, snacks, and good vibes – or treat yourself to one of our premium experiences like Singapore Airlines Gold Grass or the Connoisseur Lounge for that extra touch of comfort.
